Once I have a picture of who you are, we go directly to the thing that has your attention. I ask the questions most people don't think to ask. Then I go deeper to get past the surface version of the problem to what's actually going on.
At key points I slow things down intentionally. This is part of the work. It's where the noise clears enough for the real answer to come through, the one that was there the whole time but couldn't be heard through everything else.
What felt like a hundred different problems reveals itself as one thing. We name it. The actual block, the real bottleneck, the thing that's been driving everything else. Then we move toward what resolves it.

I left Chicago at 24 with $50 and a one-way bus ticket. No car, no plan, just a knowing that I had to go. Over the next six years I moved state to state, starting over each time. What I didn't expect was that all that starting over would force me to see myself. The patterns I kept repeating. The stories I was telling. The thing that was actually in the way.
I'm not a therapist and I'm not a coach. I'm someone who has spent years learning how to ask the question underneath the question. I've worked with people in crisis, inside healthcare systems, inside financial institutions, through disaster relief, alongside executive teams. The problems looked different every time. What was driving them almost never did.
When I sit with someone now I'm not listening for the problem they describe. I'm listening for the one they haven't named yet.
